Symposium for sustainable innovations
How can innovations benefit not only the economy but also the environment and society? Several experts will discuss these and other questions at the symposium „people | planet | profit“ on October 24, 2019.
Over a dozen events:from input sessions, hackathons, and workshops to conferences and exhibitions — the programme consists of well-established events and special events alike.

First Innovation Festival Mannheim
From October 14 to 27, companies, start up businesses, and cultural institutions meet in Mannheim for over a dozen conferences, workshops, input sessions, hackathons, and exhibitions. Together, they want to launch a new social and economic discourse on sustainable and future-proof innovations.
Two weeks of established and new events finden sich etablierte und neue Veranstaltungen — sowohl für Fachpublikum, als auch für Menschen, die sich für Innovationen und Nachhaltigkeit interessieren. Im Zentrum des Festivals steht das Symposium für nachhaltige Innovationen, „people | planet | profit, on October 24, 2019. It will aim to answer the question how innovations can benefit the economy, the environment and society at the same time.
Hometownglory, Q 6 Q 7
Sustainability and innovation are important to many young, creative people in Mannheim. Hometownglory offers a great overview of local brands in fashion, beauty, jewellery, interior design, and art.
The pop-up store is located in "Q 6 Q 7 - Das Quartier" on the first floor. A large sales area provides ample space for the concentrated creativity of the many lifestyle brands based in Mannheim.
This location also functions as the festival centre; a meeting place, where people can chat and have a drink or a snack.
Exhibition UNCOVER Design Award
As a prelude to the call for submissions for the UNCOVER Design Award 2020, the organisers present a retrospective of the nominees and winners of 2016 and 2018. All exhibits are assigned to the United Nations' sustainable development goals. The UNCOVER 2020 Design Award includes prize money of 20,000 € and will be awarded in five categories. The award ceremony will take place in October 2020.
